Aerial Lift ~ New National Standards

Aerial Lift ~ NOW Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWPs)

As of March 1, 2020, three new American National Standards Institute (ANSI) guidelines for Aerial Lift training will take effect.  As of this date, Aerial Lift will be known as Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWPs) and all current cards held by our members will need to be updated.  Our update class will have a four (4) hour time limit and will include a 30 question test at its conclusion.  The new MEWP training will now be segmented into two separate classes:  Theory and Practical.  The Theory (classroom) portion will cover all groups and types of lifts.  The Practical (hands-on) portion will now be specific to ANSI’s equipment Groups A & B and Types 1, 2 & 3.

For any members that have received no Aerial Lift (MEWP) training in the past, the class will have an eight (8) hour time limit and have a fifty (50) question test at its conclusion.  This class will be segmented into two classes, similar to the Update Class, but will be more in depth in both aspects. If you have any questions concerning this training, please call (309) 755-3585.

CRCC ~ Quad Cities Campus Assists EMFD in Training Exercise

CRCC Quad Cities Campus hosted the East Moline, IL Fire Department (EMFD) Inspection Training class on September 4, 2019.  Fourth Year Carpenter Apprentices, under the guidance of instructors Jay Bemrich and Roger Richardson, constructed mock-ups that EMFD later burned to study the fire’s source.  We at the CRCC are very pleased to assist the EMFD in helping keep our community safe!
